JEWELRY TRADE SHOW NEW YORK OCTOBER 27-29 2013 FASHION NY

The JA New York Summer Show will once again play host to a number of emerging designer talents at the JA New York New Designer Gallery. The exclusive group of designers who have been selected to participate in the New Designer Gallery have been carefully curated to a limited number of 12. While some of this year’s new designers may have participated in a craft fair or specialty pavilion in a design show, none have exhibited at a jewelry trade event before, thus their collections lend a unique point-of-view to the JA New York Show.

“This year marks the 35th year of the JA New York New Designer Gallery,” notes Drew Lawsky, Show Director for JA New York. “With a long history launching the careers of some of the most well known names in fine jewelry, the New Designer Gallery represents our commitment to uncovering talent, and providing our retailers with the rising stars of the design community.”

The American Jewelry Design Counsel (AJDC) is an integral part of the JA New Designer Showcase, and will help JA New York celebrate these rising stars at a ceremony that will take place on Monday, July 30th at 3pm on the show floor near the New Designer Gallery. “We are honored and excited to be a part of the New Designer Gallery at the JA New York Summer show each year,” enthused Todd Reed, President of AJDC. “JA New York has been so generous with us, and our partnership with them allows us to foster an initiative that is so important to our group—showing support to new designers.”

The designers showcasing their jewelry at this year’s JA New York Summer Show are: Naomi Blumenthal Studio, Michelle Fantaci Jewelry, Elizabeth Garvin, Liv Haley, Jeannie Hwang, Samantha Louise Jewelry, Ralph Masari, Leon Megé, Pierre Yves, Jenny Reeves, Bree Richey and Polly Wales. These innovative talents will be on display in a dedicated area of the show, helping both media and retailers to discover new talent, many of whom have perfected unusual techniques. A complete list of designers, along with their bios, can be found here.

The JA New York New Designer Gallery has launched designers such as David Yurman, Penny Preville, Charles Krypell, Paul Morelli, Steven Lagos, Chris Correia, Stephen Dweck, Paul Klecka, Steven Kretchmer, Alex Sepkus, Mark Schneider, K. Brunini, and Joseph Murray.

The JA New York Show will be held July 29th-31st at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City. Qualified media interested in attending, or to those interested in receiving high resolution images of the work of any of the designers showcasing in the New Designer Gallery, should contact Michelle Orman at Michelle@LastWordComm.com or at (646) 302-5521.
