NEW YORK – Did you know New York also has a Couture Fashion Week? For Fall 2011, New York Couture Fashion Week brought out the best of haute couture in the city that never sleeps. The events took place in the Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf-Astoria, where 18 designers from all over the world were showcased for the crowd. Designers like Sushima Patel and Haya Al Houti (from India and Kuwait respectively) showcased their jewel tone pieces while Suzie Turner features lingerie-inspired black dresses . FashionTV has the scoop with backstage footage and an inside look at many of the shows as the models get their hair and makeup done in colorful looks and unique styles. Lavish gowns traipse down the runway, some with embellished fabrics, exaggerated trains, and intricate bead work.
