Ralph Lauren recently presented his Fall/Holiday 2024 collection with a runway show in New York City, marking another chapter in his long-standing relationship with the fashion capital. The event, held last month, was described as “small and intimate,” reflecting the city’s influence on the designer’s work.
This show follows Lauren’s trend of returning to New York for collection debuts, despite his frequent trips to Milan for his Purple Label presentations. In September of the previous year, he showcased his Spring/Summer 2024 collection at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, a significant moment as it marked his return to NYFW after a hiatus since September 2019.
Prior to this return, Lauren had staged memorable shows in New York, demonstrating his affinity for the city. In March 2022, he took over the Museum of Modern Art for a presentation. In February 2019, he hosted the café society show at his flagship store, and in September 2018, he celebrated the brand’s 50th anniversary with a runway show at the Bethesda Terrace in Central Park.
These events showcase not only Lauren’s enduring influence and creativity in the fashion world but also his appreciation for New York City, a place that continues to inspire his work.
