Jackson Wiederhoeft’s eponymous label is synonymous with glamorous drama, a theme that continued to shine in his Fall/Winter 2024 runway show at New York Fashion Week. The setting, in the Starrett-Lehigh Building, was meticulously arranged, with expansive windows allowing the sunset to cast a warm glow and fog adding an ethereal atmosphere.
Titled “Secret Room,” the collection focused on sophisticated sensuality and elevated dressing. Each piece, whether a gown, embellished skirt, or jacket, exuded opulence and refinement. The show opened with the striking “Salon” corset in blue-gray Harris Tweed, featuring a hand-beaded breastplate made of blue-silver glass cut beads, paired with a matching belted pencil skirt.
Texture played a significant role in the collection, with fabrics like double-faced satin, silk chiffon, hand-embroidered crystal, moiré, tulle, and chainmail adding depth and richness to the designs. A standout piece was the closing ivory corseted bridal gown, crafted from double-faced silk satin, an ivory glass beaded skirt, a draped bow train, and a long white tulle veil, epitomizing the collection’s luxurious aesthetic.
