Maria Grazia Chiuri continued her exploration of femininity for Christian Dior’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection. The show, set against a striking video installation by artist Elena Bellatoni, presented powerful feminist statements like “I Don’t Belong To Anyone Else,” “My Body Is Not A Product,” and “I Am Not Your Doll” displayed across the venue walls. Chiuri’s contemporary designs graced the vibrant pink and yellow runway with a contemporary uniform.
Amidst the vivid setting, Dior’s latest collection adhered to a neutral color palette. Transparent dresses made of tethered lace opened the show, while waisted blazers accentuated the feminine silhouette. Tulle added a feminine touch to subsequent gowns, and business-minded long black coats layered over collared white shirts made a statement.
Many tops showcased one exposed shoulder, and the skirts fell below the knee. Chiuri incorporated subtle illustrative patterns on blazers, topcoats, and skirts, harmonizing with monochrome underlayers. Utilitarian elements were evident in nylon vests and multi-pocketed jackets, while minimalist single-hued dresses and coats took center stage.
A set composed of grey denim underwent treatment, appearing in a jacket, shirt, and knee-length shorts. Beige intricate lace added an elegant touch to formal tops and flowing gowns. Floor-length skirts were paired with asymmetrical tops, offering a cohesive ensemble. The collection concluded with opulent sheer dresses featuring detailed neck ornaments, emphasizing femininity and Chiuri’s progressive approach to women’s fashion.
