Isabel Marant Spring/Summer 2025: Tribal Punk Meets Sunset Romance

Isabel Marant’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection stormed the Paris runway with a spirited fusion of early 1980s punk and effortless Parisian cool. Drawing from the wild energy of Annabella Lwin and her band Bow Wow Wow, the show reimagined tribal punk through a modern, feminine lens—part raw rebellion, part romantic escapism.

The collection pulsed with intricate detail and vibrant texture. Embroidered and braided silk chevron dresses burst with color, while black and gray weathered denim blousons introduced a grounded toughness. Studded leather shorts brought edge and attitude, balanced by Marant’s signature suede pieces—from fringe-lined, blanket-stitched separates to moccasin-inspired boots and bohemian satchel bags. Accessories were bold and deliberate, with chunky gold bangles making a statement. But above all, the show emphasized legs, celebrating their movement and silhouette with confidence.

In a private preview, Marant and her design director Kim Bekker revealed some of the collection’s most experimental pieces. Highlights included a shrug-like jacket embellished with iridescent fringe, a beige braided top stitched in zigzag patterns, and two captivating gowns—one black, one metallic gray—delicately held together by silver, pearl-like connectors that flashed skin in a subtle yet sensual way.

The collection also embraced a return to artisanal roots, presenting a tribe of bold, self-assured women with hints of Amazonian power. A standout dress adorned with intricate embroidery inspired by South American butterflies reflected this spirit of natural beauty and strength. The color palette—rich with rust, mauve, pink, and purple—captured the tones of a fading sunset, while plush fabrics evoked the velvety softness of butterfly wings.

Marant’s Spring/Summer 2025 show was both a celebration of craft and a declaration of fierce femininity—a layered, expressive journey that paid homage to the past while boldly moving forward.
